Two of the characters in the series Marky has starred on were killed off in preparation for his next series. His character Michael died in Bakekang in preparation for his role as Mateo in Asian Treasures. Mateo in turn was killed off in order for Marky to prepare for his first primetime leading role in the Philippine remake of the Japanese series Shaider.
